The German Longhaired Pointer was developed in Germany as a versatile hunting dog able to work on both land and water. Its long coat protects it against rough terrain and cold water; it is a balanced, hardworking breed.
Appearance and Coat
It has a large, athletic and well-balanced body. Its medium-long, slightly wavy, silky coat forms feathering on the legs and tail; it is usually brown or brown-and-white. It requires regular grooming.
